Taiwan is a vibrant travel destination known for its convenient transportation network and excellent infrastructure. Yet, traffic incidents can sometimes occur, especially for visitors unfamiliar with local conditions. To ensure fair and clear resolution, travelers involved in accidents can request official accident assessments from local Traffic Accident Investigation Committees across Taiwan, helping clarify responsibilities and resolve disputes.

If you’re involved in a traffic accident during your travels, immediately call the emergency number 110, and the police will come to the scene to assist. If injuries have occurred, call 119 to request emergency medical services. Should there be disagreements regarding the responsibility for the accident, you may apply to your local Traffic Accident Investigation Committee for a formal assessment to clarify responsibility and facilitate resolution.

Taiwan’s Highway Bureau advises international visitors to utilize Taiwan’s safe, convenient, and affordable public transportation to minimize road risks, reduce driving stress, and enhance their travel experience. By using public transportation, tourists can significantly lower their risk of accidents and enjoy a smoother, worry-free journey.
